Attribution and creative commons

Today I am writing about attribution, share alike and creative commons.

When you find a picture on Google and you want to use it you have to use a thing called attribution; if you don’t do this you could get taken to court for copyrighting. As you probably know already things you find on Google don’t belong to you (they belong to whomever created them) so you need to give the owner credit for the picture or music that you are using . This can be achieved by simply putting a link to his/hers website or social media page underneath the image or video you are using.

Creative commons is a way of using other peoples things under certain circumstances. For example you could say that someone else can use your work but they cant edit it or make money from it. there are many other rules that creative commons has but one rule that applies to everyone is that you have to use the same CC as the owner of the picture did this is called share alike.

So just remember to use attribution next time you use a picture from Google or a social media page  tag them in it otherwise, you could end up in prison or with a hefty fine.
